Headstart

Date:
Mon 26 November 2018

Time:
08:30 am to 15:30 pm

The notion of ‘I Am Known as a Learner’ summarises our Vision of Learning with reference to creating learning environments that are personalised and cater for all learners. It also supports the teachings of Saint Marcellin’s mantra “If you want to teach young people, first you must love them – love them all equally’.

The key feature of our Headstart Program is for each student to develop a ‘future-focused” mindset by engaging in a range of learning opportunities that stretch them through the application of enterprise thinking and skills. They engage in these in a collaborative manner, in a real world context. This combination of learning opportunities includes different year levels participating in activities that empower each young man in knowing self, knowing our community and knowing our city. The Headstart Program also includes opportunities for students to commence their 2019 academic pathway rolling into the next year level and taking part in various learning activities that best prepares them for their next year of learning growth.

Throughout the Headstart Program each House will also host their annual House Graduation Ceremony – a celebration of what we have collectively and individually achieved throughout 2018.

Further details about the Headstart Program and the structure at each year level will be made available at the start of Term 4.
