Message from the Principal - 12 December 2017

12 Dec 2017

Dear Members of the Marcellin College Family,

I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Melissa Mackellin on her appointment as the Head of Senior School. Melissa has been an outstanding Head of Junior School since 2013 and I look forward to Melissa’s evolution in the Head of Senior School role. As Melissa is currently on parental leave she will be returning to Marcellin in her new role in Semester 2, 2018.

I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Sarah Pyle on her appointment as the Acting Head of Senior School for Semester 1, 2018.

Last week I met with Matthew Guy (Opposition Leader) and Michael O’Brien (Shadow Treasurer) regarding the North East Link Project. Mr Guy offered his view on the project suggesting that the State Liberal platform on this issue would be founded on support for East West link before North East Link. As a Principal I do not wish to enter the political space, however the views of the Opposition Leader in this matter are aligned with those of the College and we are grateful for his interest in and support of our College.

Both Mr Guy and Mr O’Brien offered to be a voice for the concerns of the Marcellin Community in the Parliamentary chamber. Therefore I ask that if any member of the community has any questions or concerns about this project that they send them in writing to

On behalf of the Marcellin College Community I would like to wish you a safe, restful, happy and holy Christmas Season. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to the College in 2018 as together we continue to support the young men of Marcellin.

Mark Murphy
