Marco Di Cesare
A committed Marist, Marco has been connected to Marist education since his first entry into the Marist world as a Year 7 student, then as a teacher in a Marist school for 19 years. He experienced first-hand the many benefits that come with being connected to the worldwide institute of the Marists. As both a student and later as a staff member, Marco has remained connected to the ideals of St Marcellin Champagnat and his legacy.
Marco has held various leadership positions in schools and comes to the College with a broad understanding of what it is to be a leader in a Catholic school. After 19 years in the Latrobe Valley at Catholic Regional College and Lavalla Catholic College, Marco returned to Melbourne as Principal of Caroline Chisholm Catholic College. He spent 8 years at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College and over that time oversaw significant improvements across the College.
Understanding the importance of lifelong learning, Marco has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Master of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Catholic University, a Master of Education Policy from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Certificate in Theology from the University of Divinity and has completed a Master of Theology at the Melbourne College of Divinity.
Marco is married to Moira (who is also a teacher) and has two daughters and twin boys who recently finished at the College, along with a myriad of pets!

Phillip Kamay
Phil’s educational journey began at Our Lady of Mercy College (Heidelberg), where he worked as an instrumental music tutor while completing his undergraduate studies at Monash University. This early experience solidified his passion for teaching, leading to a full-time position at Loyola College (Watsonia) after completing postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne.
At Loyola College, Phil took on several leadership roles, including House Coordinator, Mathematics Achievement Leader, and member of the Teacher Formation Team. During this time, he developed a strong commitment to supporting early career teachers, facilitating workshops, and fostering collaborative professional learning communities. His dedication to teacher development expanded into his role as an academic staff member at Victoria University, where he continues to guide educators in pedagogy and classroom management.
Phil’s leadership at Marcellin College (Bulleen) has been multifaceted, encompassing roles such as House Leader, Peer Coach, and Acting Assistant Principal of Students (Years 7-9). He later joined Caroline Chisholm Catholic College (Braybrook) as Director of Campus, focusing on enhancing educational outcomes for boys.
Deeply inspired by the Marist and Catholic traditions, Phil embraces their role in nurturing holistic student development and is honoured to be a member of the Marist Association of St Marcellin Champagnat. Phil holds an array of postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Business Administration (Executive), Master of Teaching, Bachelor of Music, Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), and Graduate Certificate in the Psychology of Risk.
In 2022, Phil returned to Marcellin College as Director of Students before being appointed to Deputy Principal – Staff. He lives locally with his wife, Marcelle, and enjoys spending his leisure time on the golf course.

Geralyn McCarthy
Geralyn comes to Marcellin College after spending many years at Thomas Carr College in Melbourne’s west where she held roles such as Director of Faith and Mission and Director of Student Services.
Geralyn has also worked in a variety of counselling and other senior executive roles across the health, welfare and education sectors.
Geralyn has had a strong interest in child safeguarding and has been responsible for the implementation of child safe standards in a variety of settings, including schools, parishes and within a religious congregation.
Geralyn’s faith and commitment to living out the Word of the Lord is reflected in her continued learning and work each day. She is involved in a number of young adult faith formation activities at her local parish including facilitating retreats for youth and young adult leaders.
Geralyn has undertaken extensive education including a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Grad Dip in Education. She has completed her Master of Education (Student Wellbeing); Master of Theological Studies (Uni of Divinity); Grad Cert in Education: Safeguarding Children and Young People (ACU); Geralyn is currently completing higher research studies at the University of Divinity in the field of Systematic Theology (Ecclesiology)
Geralyn is married with two young adult sons and can often be found down at beaches near Apollo Bay, one of her favourite spots.

Suzanne Farley
Suzanne has more than 20 years’ experience in education with a strong connection to the Marist Charism. She was educated at Catholic College Sale and started her teaching career there before moving to Lavalla Catholic College, both Marist schools. Suzanne then moved to Melbourne where she was the Deputy Principal of Learning and Teaching at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College for 6 years before joining Marcellin College.
Over the years Suzanne has held numerous leadership positions including House Coordinator, Learning Leader and Director of Learning.
Suzanne holds an Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science (Biomedical), a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Master of Education (Educational Leadership and Policy) from Monash University.
Suzanne is an avid reader and enjoys city escapes to her hometown in Gippsland.

Rocky Gentile
Rocky has been a member of the Marcellin College community for more than eleven years. In his time at the College, Rocky has held a range of leadership positions including House Leader, Head of Football and Cricket and acting College Coordinator. He is passionate about all students learning and flourishing here at Marcellin through their involvements in classes and co-curricular activities. Rocky has a strong connection to the Marist Charism and the example of St Marcellin.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master in Educational Leadership (Curriculum) and is currently the Deputy Principal of Student Wellbeing. Rocky has two young daughters who have already shown a keen interest in his passion, cricket.

Phil Tankey
Phil joined Marcellin College in 2015. His role oversees the financial and facilities aspects of the College in addition to information technology and marketing. He also leads the Master Planning of the Bulleen campus. Phil has extensive experience as a chief financial officer and company secretary within the not-for-profit sector in community services organisations primarily in aged care, disability, education and employment services.
Phil is an alumni of the College and has a particular interest in governance, long term financial sustainability and people reaching their potential. Phil has also worked with a global consulting firm both in Australia and overseas prior to a career with multinational companies as a chief financial officer. He also established his own consultancy business providing business planning and governance support to NPOs and private businesses. His community services experience includes involvement as treasurer of a pre-school and a RSL social sporting club.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (AMICDA). Phil has also been recently appointed to the Committee of Catholic Education Business Administrators (CEBA).
